Stop-motion fun

Tags:

After some thought I bought a cheap 5€ remote release for my Canon E1000D digital camera and we were ready to go. I mounted the camera on top of an old tripod (that lacks a few screws and the crank thanks to my kids), connected the remote release, focused and started shooting. This page shows a few small fun projects we did that way.

Things to take care of:

  • don't touch/kick the tripod
  • don't try it without a remote release (you will move the camera with the built-in release)
  • try to ensure a constant lighting (daylight tends to change)
  • make very very small moves each frame

Cool

Been thinking about trying to create some stop motion clips for a while myself. My son is wild with train toys. Would have been cool to locate some good old steam engine sounds and create a little home made train toy video.
